greenfield village

Adjacent to the Henry Ford Museum sits Greenfield Village. Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village were both part of the former Edison Institute. Henry Ford tried to preserve elements of the American Industrial revolution and Americana. The museum primarily houses items from industry, or objects of famous people. Greenfield Village on the other hand houses historical or noteworthy buildings during that same time.

 That weekend Jakob was nursing an inflamed growth plate.  For several weeks it was difficult for him to put weight on his right knee.  Since we were walking so much we got a wheel chair.  This turkey named Pete was attracted to any objects with wheels.  Sounds odd but all the strollers and wagons = snacks in Pete's world.  Apparently little kids give Pete a lot of handouts.  He followed the wheel chair around until we left this area. 

 There were also an area of artisans and craftsman.

Apparently we did not take pictures of Thomas Edison's laboratory complex.  Might have just been late in the day by the time we got to it.  On a side note, visiting a regional attraction during the off-season has its advantages. Low crowds, easy access.  We would definitely consider another fall trip.
