You know it is finally the end of football season when there is a team award party. Luckily for us, one of the coaches works at Benkin's in Silverton and we had our get together in a greenhouse.
The mighty, mighty Aves. Kind of fun to think down the road as to which kid(s) we might see on Sunday afternoons in the NFL. Crazier things have happened.
The coaches had each player come up front and receive a trophy. At the same time he would share some things that stood out about that player. On an odd note, it turned out that during the season we found out that the head coach and us have a close mutual friend. We probably even crossed paths at the friend's wedding back in the 90's.
You might notice another familiar face in Sam's welcome line on the way to get his trophy.
All in all, a fun year. Sam had one hit during one game that gave us a real scare. But he shook it off and was back the next week. Both boys (unfortunately no pics from Jakob's party) want to play again next year, for now.
