Making some progress, though it may not seem like it. Knowing there was a water damaged & settled joist under the bathroom, I still played it conservatively, not wanting to take out the old tile floor if I did not have too.

I decided to go ahead and break up the concrete tile slab - 6 inches thick. The goal was to re-engineer the floor, bringing up the low parts and reinforcing them.
Debris goes out bucket by bucket.
