christmas break: now what?

With grad school I've had 17 weeks of too much to do and now officially on Christmas break, I'm wondering what to do. What's wrong with me? I need to figure out where to channel this inertia or I will lose it. John has a couple days off without kids to finish up any last minute day time shopping (refused to go this weekend because of the crowds) then Wednesday the boys will be off. Mon has to work til Thursday noonish but she finds on official "half days" she's often one of the few who report to work.

Christmas Eve we usually have some family activities planned, including skating downtown, seeing the model trains and eating somewhere. Haven't figured out what we are doing this year, or the timing. Boys are stoked about skating again this year, but it always sounds a lot more fun than it actually is. Perhaps this is the year we skate more than a half hour. Of course the downtown ice is usually pretty worn by this time in the season, and pretty crowded. Not always the funnest to skate on. Depending upon the weather and timing, we'll probably get it in over break if not Christmas Eve.

Tonight we have an official date (sitter = date). We're meeting some friends at an Italian restaurant. Should be fun. Hopefully our teen-aged neighbor will take good care of the boys.

Looking forward to break but it might take some work, relaxing.
