Sadly, Christmas break has come and gone in the blink of a young kid's eye. But what a great break it was: family, friends, fun and a really great Christmas. Still processing it, but it sure seemed like this holiday break was the most stress free and relaxing we have had in while. Some of the highlights were just being off from school and work together as a family, going to Krohn's Conservatory, meeting the Elliott family on Christmas Day (that hasn't happened since like 1985?), seeing the "Awaited" production at Crossroads, ice skating in downtown Cincinnati and seeing the model trains, going out to a nice restaurant as grown ups with grown ups, bringing in the new year by serving at the 48 hour lock-in for teens at our church. Overall it was a great mix of fun, togetherness and relaxation.
Boys are now back at school reconnecting with their buddies and of course, school work. John starts in a couple weeks and is enjoying a week or two to get some things done before the new semester. Mon is back at work for the next couple days, then starts a NEW job on Monday! She is very excited to say the least.

This little guy is the mascot of a company that advertises during our favorite show.
The guys preferred to skate on their own this year, as opposed to clinging onto Mom or Dad's hand. Maybe a little sad coming of age note there, but sure made ice skating more enjoyable. Guys didn't do half bad either.
We had come down on a day that had lightly rained all morning, leaving the ice virtually vacant when we arrived.

Probably the last year for this pose? Jake had to give a presentation about his family holiday traditions and this was one of them. We have pictures of the guys a couple years in a row here.
